Brief on international relations office at the Faculty of Physical Therapy, Cairo University


The Faculty of Physical Therapy, Cairo University is considered the oldest faculty established in the Middle East, which has been accredited by the NAQAEE thatrequires more development work to maintain its position.

The establishment of the international relation office:

Vision: The international relations officeseeksfor the faculty to become unique nationally and internationally in the field of scientific research and cooperation with different universities.

Mission:The office works on activating and refreshing the scientific exchange between faculty and advanced countries in scientific areas and contributing to publicationin unique scientific journals.

The office offers services to the teaching staff and is connected to the international relations office at Cairo University through the coordinator of international relations. To maximize the utilization,it benefits

-         Teaching staff and assistant staff.

-         Students (undergraduate and postgraduate).

-         Administrators


Administrative design of international relations office in the faculty:

The administration is divided to three parts:

1-    General administration for expatriates/international students whom Dr. Marwa Abdulahman is responsible. 2-    General administration for research cooperation (scholarship and projects) and academic exchange.Responsible is Dr. Eman Othman

Goals and services offered by this office:

It Consist of three main areas:

First: Dual agreements with foreign universities:

-         Activating present agreements between faculty and different universities to:

1-    Facilitate receiving acceptance lettersfrom different universities and institutions for teaching and assistant staff so they can admit for Ph.D, M.Sc scholarship and postdoctoral studies.

2-    Working together on joint researches through writingprojects, which need one or more partners from foreign universities.

3-    Facilitate bachelor orpostgraduate student exchange with universities in the agreement.

4-    Receiving research professors from foreign universities and travel of faculty research staff to exchange scientific experience.

5-    Providing technical and administrative support in order to sign agreement with different universities.

Second: Individual activities

The office targets to encourage and direct the youth of teaching staff, assistant lecturers and demonstrators for the importance of traveling abroad to attain scientific degrees or postdoctoral studies:

1-    Acknowledging the faculty community of the authorities granting and supporting level chances in order to terminate masters or Ph.D or post doctoral studies in international universities.

2-    Announcing of travel opportunities before deadline by sufficient time.

3-    Revision of research plans which are presented to granting authorities and making sure of standards fulfillment before application.

4-    Arranging workshops on how to write research plans.

Third: Scientific delegations:

1-    Meeting scientific delegations visiting faculty.

2-    Facilitating administrative procedures for visitors.

Duty description of international relation coordinator

-         Coordinator (Dr. Ingy Mohammed El-Nabes) under the umbrella of Prof. Dr. Dean of faculty and vice dean for postgraduate studies and other vice deans (education and student affairs and community service and environment development).

-         Duty description of coordinator cause: he/she is the link between the faculty and international relations office (Cairo University),who is responsible for:

1-     Organising and communicating with international relations office in the university through:

a-     Attending private meeting, which are organised by the office granting scholarships, projects and agreements.

b-    Attending symposiums and training courses, which are set by the office especially for training of coordinators.

c-     Exchanging of received information to and from the office from scholarship projects, delegations agreement and follow up of database and assuring availability toall categories(teaching staff, demonstrators, post graduate students and Bachelor students.

d-    Assisting in solving problems relevant to administrations and departments for expatriates.

e-     Aiding in proceduresforscholarshipprojects grantingin different scientific departments.


2-     Coordinating with relevant administrations of faculty (education and students affairs, postgraduate affairs, cultural relations …etc) concerning student projects,scholarship and agreements.

Faculty of Physical Therapy - Cairo University is the first academic institute in Egypt, Started in 1962 to this day as a main provider for physical therapist and Academic staff in Egypt and the Middle East 


The Faculty have Awarded the National Accreditation in 2014, and seeking for International Accreditation
